Scottish Full Sleeve Tattoo Design
Hi folks, I just want to introduce another Scottish-themed full sleeve art. My client took inspiration from an older Scottish full sleeve design that I did in the past, but with a slight twist. We incorporated Greek texts in Christian messages, and added my clients' sons' names. We went for a more "airy" feel where there are more openings, and not too collage-heavy. He also asked for sizing down the elements so that it doesn't look to bulky or big in real life. The design went through a couple of sketches before the current layout was approved, but I think in the end, this design turned better than I anticipated. Originally I felt that there were too many unnecessary openings, but I managed to hide that using fillers like cloud and smoke. I enlarged the names just a tiny bit to create a counterbalance at the bottom because I thought it's top heavy, and I also liked how the map of Scotland is prominent. I think this is the main identity of the design, and it's legible from a distance.
