11 Tactics Used By The Mainstream Media to Manufacture Consent For The Oligarchy

The mainstream media is aging and collapsing under the weight of its own hubris and arrogance. Now entirely formulaic in presentation and predictable in substance, the ‘major’ outlets of news, which are monopolized under only a small handful of corporations, serve the purpose of misleading the public on important issues and manufacturing consent for government and the oligarchs.
[ads-post]The public is still largely numb to this reality, and in a wicked catch-22 for modern man, many people are still addicted to the very media that serves as the primary weapon of social control against them. The tide is turning, however, and to help break the spell we bring you this comprehensive list of 11 tactics used against the public by the mainstream media to coerce consensus, divide, conquer, ridicule and stifle truthful or meaningful conversation about the state of our world.
1. Lying by Omission – What is not on the nightly news?
This is the most important question to ask when consuming mainstream media.
The average hour long broadcast consists of 48 minutes or less of actual news programming, minus, of course, the chit-chatting, the expensive motion graphics and the bumpers, highlights and story recaps. With a formula like this, full of pomp and grandstanding, the impression given is that if does not make it on the nightly news, the it is not of significance. The most obvious way in which the mainstream media manufactures consent for policy makers and advertisers is by omitting from the news reel those stories and perspectives which may compromise the broadcasters agenda, whatever that may be.
2. Controlling the Debate – Who is arguing, and for what cause?

The media is laden with groomed pundits, so-called opinion leaders, and commentators, and each one has a definite reputation, each one resonates with a specific target audience, and each one fills a predictable role in a conversation. Program guests are very well vetted, and news is a science, a very lucrative science that excels in giving the impression of a diversity in ideas while keeping the debate sequestered in a very well constructed box. The characters in this box make all the difference.
3. Selecting the Right Anchors, Casters and Presenters – Our lives have been pegged to the dollar, and as such, a ‘good job’ is valued above many genuine virtues. People like to keep their jobs, as do news anchors and news casters, and since news is, again, a business, the voices and faces on news programs are hired to perform a role, a job description, a task. They are not employed to pursue morally driven journalism for the benefit of society. If they perform as they are required, they advance and gain more exposure. If they rock the boat, there are a thousand other hungry job-seekers chomping at the bit to replace them and do exactly they are hired to do. News anchoring is a job like anything else, and those at the forefront are the best at playing the role.
4. Scripting and Synchronizing News – One of the creepier and more blatant efforts to homogenize thought and manufacture consent is to script the news at high level, then distribute these scripts to many different locales and anchors to read verbatim, while they feign authenticity.
This is partially a result of the business decision to save money by employing as few actual news gatherers as possible, but is also a key part of the strategy to achieve conformity amongst people of different backgrounds and interests. The government has also been known to interject itself into the chain of command for selecting which news scripts are to be disseminated to the public. This is the most fundamental characteristic of propaganda, and is rather embarrassing to witness once you realize just how disingenuous your local news presenters are and just how easily duped most people are.
5. Politicizing Everything – Language is the greatest weapon of social control, and with mainstream media, powerfully debilitating language is pushed into every corner of our consciousness. Conservative vs. Liberal. Democrat vs. Republican. Right-winger vs. Left-winger. Good vs. Bad. Left vs. Right. Right vs. Wrong. White vs. Black.
And so on. Ad nauseam.
The truth is that ideas and opinions are as vastly different as grains of sand on a beach, yet the media intentionally frames every issue in terms of a phoney left-right paradigm that has been constructed to pigeon hole complex ideas and interests into a cheapened thought prison. No unorthodox idea or point of view can reach critical mass because everything is automatically framed in a ‘with us or against us’ mindset, turning people against each other for no reason other than to appeal to our desire to be on the winning team.
The mainstream media is the chief party responsible for creating the constructs of ‘left’ and ‘right,’ which have been tightly integrated into our social consciousness as a means of achieving divisiveness and disagreement among the populace. This is the chief tactic of divide and conquer, and when people are compelled on any issue to ‘pick a team’ and fight the rivalry to it’s bitter end, many opportunities for true progress are lost and the populace is easily goaded into a position favorable to the elite.
6. Using the Language of Separation and Labels – Sometime in the 1990’s, the mainstream mediastopped referring to people as ‘people’ or even as ‘citizens’ and began calling everyone ‘consumers.’ Once again, language is important to shaping reality, and as ‘consumers’ our role in the affairs of business and state are reduced to hapless bystanders whose job it is to choose and reject, not interject and affect.
We’ve all heard the label ‘conspiracy theorist,’ which is the most popular label used when an idea or story is unfavorable to the mainstream media and the interests that back them up. You are a ‘conspiracy theorist’ if you ask questions, assimilate facts in a logical manner, or pursue justice outside of the main flow of public discourse on a popular issue.
This type of language is also part of the process of politicizing everything, and by also labeling people in accordance with their country of origin, religion, skin color, economic class, or whatever else, more wedges of division are driven into the populace, deflating our inherent power in numbers.
7. Asking the Wrong Questions – Press access to ‘important’ people in our society is tightly regulated, and the powers that be don’t like to be confronted with unexpected and hard questions. For this, the mainstream media dutifully uses its access to people in high places to ask softball, trivial, nonsensical, ignorant questions about irrelevant and superfluous issues.
Independent media is winning the long race against corporate/fascist propagandized media because people are naturally inclined to resonate with common sense and truth, which is not at all what corporate mainline media is involved with. White house correspondents shouldn’t waste our time and insult our intelligence by asking a war time president about his pet dog or a recent golfing trip. But they do, all the time.
8. Closing the Book Too Soon – Moving an important or complicated issue from the front page as quickly as possible is a common strategy to remove touchy subjects from the public conversation. Sadly, our national attention span is at an all time low, mostly because we’ve been trained to move from issue to issue with lightening speed, never soaking up any one thing for too long. With such a short term memory, it is easy to protect a politician, forget a genocide, ignore the long-term effects of a bank bailout, and so on, just by moving onto to something new.
Once the media has signaled that a story has been resolved or adequately discussed, then any after thought, individual investigation, or further inquiry is labeled as extremist and ignored.
9. Triviality and Distraction – With all of the important decisions being made daily by powerful people, decisions that genuinely affect quality of life for many people, the news outlets are steadfastly devoted to engaging in gossip, entertainment, murders and acts of violence, car accidents, disasters and other pablum. The body politic is kept confused by celebrity happenings, endless sports contests and other such pageantry, and the media uses these many forms of distractions to fill time and brain space so that important issues are seen as a drag or as a downer, and never given proper reflection.
This is so ubiquitous in our society nowadays that there really is no escape.
10. Outright Lying – When all else fails, just lie, make it up as you go along, sell your air time to the highest bidder, and never look back. In the internet age, people are pretty keen on fact checking, rebutting, arguing, and gathering stats, and there are enough facts available to prove any side to any story. In fact, this has become an art form for major media, and the ability to gather facts in accordance with an agenda is a profitable skill for the mainstream media.
Lying has always worked, and the bigger the lie, the more likely it is to be believed.
11. Bonus – Eye Candy and Mind Melting – This one is a bonus and part of the new era of network news. Rather than employ virtuous gumshoes and hardcore reporters of truth, mainstream media instead invests in graphic artists to make each frame of the broadcast an over-designed motion collage of brain-melting info overload. Staying focused on what the anchor or guest is actually saying is impossible. By design, the news is presented in a mad shotgun blast of competing signals, and your attention is split in ten directions with tickers, bubbles, stock footage, gyrating lights and special effects.
The point here is to exhaust the mind with over-stimulation so that the brain cannot function methodically and cannot process an issue beyond the shallow surface. This is also known as hypnotism, or mind-control.
Conclusion
News is a commodity just like everything else these days, and although many still believe the point of news is to inform, it is important to accept the hard truth that the purpose of the news is really just to sell something, be it a product, an idea, a candidate, a public image, a war, or whatever. For this, the mainstream media is focused on first deciding which issues are to be discussed in the public forum, then by using a bagful of tricks to shape people’s perceptions of an issue, the media divides us and pits us against each other while leading us into consent for an underlying and hidden agenda.Source: Waking Times

The Guy Who Wanted to Get Pregnant
For all intents and purposes, we have here some kind of pagan male pregnancy totem.
First, there is the writing, a declaration, "He Shall be Pregnant!", in Hebrew, permanently tattooed on our subject's limb.
You can also see a bush, obviously representing an invitation to the spot at the local gay cruising park, where this guy conducts his baby making attempts.

Now that we've all had our laugh, here is what went wrong:
The Mpreg Dude wanted to tattoo the most sacred name of God, YHWH, but unfortunately, didn't pay very close attention to his spelling, getting a Resh instead of the Vav, thus changing the meaning entirely.
The letters Vav and Resh might look similar, but they are very much not the same.
Now, observe the difference between "YHWH", God's most sacred name, and "Yhare" which translates in Hebrew to "He Shall be Pregnant":
A word of caution. YHWH is one of the most potentially offensive Hebrew tattoos. It's God's most sacred name and mustn't be used in vain. Jewish people don't pronounce it as is, not even in prayer, so think good and hard before you decide to tattoo YHWH on yourself.

Johnson Johnson Ordered to Pay 72M for Knowingly Causing Cancer With Product

A Missouri court has ordered pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson to pay $72 million in damages to the family of a woman who claimed that the company’s talcum powder caused the ovarian cancer that killed her within three years.
Alabama resident Jacqueline Salter Fox filed a lawsuit prior to her death in October 2015. Her complaint was part of a broader claim in Missouri, which involved nearly 60 people.
Following Fox’s death at the age of 62, her son took over as a plaintiff in the case. Fox’s family will now receive $10 million in actual damages and $62 million in punitive damages, a circuit court in St. Louis ruled on Monday.
In her suit, Fox said she had used Baby Powder and Shower to Shower for feminine hygiene for more than 35 years before being diagnosed with ovarian cancer three years ago. Her attorneys argued that Fox’s terminal ovarian cancer was directly caused by the talc inside the personal hygiene products.
They also claimed that the company had known about the risk of cancer for decades, but failed to warn customers in a race for profit.
Speaking at the hearing on February 16, Allen Smith, an attorney for the family, argued that the company “valued profits over human life”.
“Johnson & Johnson was aware of every one of these studies going back 30 to 40 years,” Smith said, referring to a mid-1990’s government study that revealed that talc caused cancer in rats.
While Fox had other health problems that could have played a role in her cancer diagnosis, the attorneys insisted that her use of Johnson & Johnson’s products was key to the fatal disease.
The company said that it was “disappointed with the outcome of the trial” and was considering appealing the verdict.
“We sympathize with the plaintiff's family but firmly believe the safety of cosmetic talc is supported by decades of scientific evidence,” said the pharmaceutical giant’s spokeswoman Carol Goodrich.
In the meantime, about 1,000 cases are pending against Johnson & Johnson in Missouri and another 200 have been filed in New Jersey. Fox’s suit is the first to have resulted in monetary compensation.
In 2013, a federal jury in Sioux Falls, South Dakota found that plaintiff Deane Berg’s ovarian cancer had been caused in part by Johnson & Johnson’s body powder, but Berg was not awarded any damages, Reuters reported.

In an Oligarchy Voting is a Tool to Manufacture the Illusion of Consent

If there’s one thing we’ve learned so far from election 2016 it’s that the American people do not understand their government.
The perception is that we have a democracy, and that in this democracy we the people have vested power in our government which we exercise through the act of voting. ‘Throw the bastards out,’ has long since been the war cry of the impotent democrat, yet we no longer even have a democracy to cling to, and although most people choose to ignore it, this fact of life has been visible for decades.
An oligarchical government is a form of rule in which a small group of wealthy individuals have control over the critical mechanisms of state power, industry and economy. These people are unelected, unaccountable and they exercise control on behalf of their personal financial interests, drawing on the productive power of a nation to support their lifestyles and geopolitical ambitions. The ruling class in such a nation is often comprised of dynastic families who pass the baton of power back and forth between themselves, managing the illusion of change and evolution while never actually ceding their franchise over the masses.
The Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton phenomenon is a contemporary example of this exchange.
In 2014, a Princeton study in the academic journal Perspectives on Politics published their conclusion that America had officially transitioned to an oligarchy. Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter has even recently made comments to this effect, telling Oprah Winfrey and her audience that ‘now it’s just an oligarchy.’ These two warnings follow decades of comments and public admissions by former presidentsand key political figures warning us that our country was being taken over by shadowy financial interests.
Inarguably, there is an invisible government running America, yet we are still urged to cast our vote for president every four years. Why do they allow us to participate in this charade if they know our vote doesn’t make any difference?
Voting as a Tool to Create the Illusion of Consent
Even many true dictatorships hold political elections as tools to manufacture the illusion of consent for their party. Stalin is perhaps the most astounding example of this, for, during his rule, while the people of the nation were being brutalized byThe Red Terror, election results came in showing over 99% support for the Communist Party.
Saddam Hussein also used this tactic to great effect in a 1995 in a referendum aimed at creating the illusion of public support for his reign, with 99.9% of the population voting in favor.
China’s Mao, arguably the greatest murderer of all time, alsoforced his subjects into the ballot booth, using the results as propaganda to support his totalitarianism.
America is not yet a dictatorship, it is but an oligarchy with big dreams of becoming one. As such, we are still transitioning out of the ideology of personal liberty and self-rule, and are still dependent on the ritual of voting as acknowledgment of this heritage, even though selecting a president does nothing to favorably influence the direction of the nation.
The oligarchy still needs us to believe that we are free so that we won’t get serious about revolution, and voting is the best tool for maintaining this illusion. It serves the dual purposes of providing an outlet for our righteous indignation, pacifying our anger and sapping our political drive, and of acting as a survey to determine which policies will meet the least amount of popular resistance.
When we show up on election day, knowing full well the candidates we’ve been presented with do not represent our ambitions for this nation, we are tacitly expressing our willingness to being governed in this manner. We are contributing to the perception that our rulers have our permission to carry on, and by doing such we are acquiescing ever further to their dominion over us.
Final Thoughts
If you’re one of the few Americans who hasn’t already committed yourself, heart and soul, to one of the two majorly phony political parties dominating the U.S., and are still trying to decide which taste of bitters you’ll go for on election day, consider this: there is no Constitutional requirement that you vote.
There is not yet a law in America that obliges you to consent to the corruption, lies, criminality,war-mongering, fear, hate, stupidity, tyranny, surveillance and self-destruction being championed by today’s candidates. You are still free to opt-out and explore the moral highroad of conscientious objection, should your value system be so utterly insulted bythe fake election process taking place before us.
“The American people are being guilted, bullied, pressured, cajoled, intimidated, terrorized and browbeaten into voting. We’re constantly told to vote because it’s your so-called civic duty, because you have no right to complain about the government unless you vote, because every vote counts, because we must present a unified front, because the future of the nation depends on it, because God compels us to do so, because by not voting you are in fact voting, because the “other” candidate must be defeated at all costs, or because the future of the Supreme Court rests in the balance.
You are under no moral obligation to vote for the lesser of two evils. Indeed, voting for a lesser evil is still voting for evil.” ~John W. Whitehead

Her Mom Tried to Kill Her It Didn’t Work—29 Yrs Later Nobody Saw This Sweet Revenge Coming

Here’s a woman named Gianna Jessen who has a powerful story to share. This story was told as part of testifying to show what happens when a mother has a late term abortion, yet the child ends up actually surviving that abortion.
The child is Gianna Jessen. She is now an adult and due to the lack of oxygen during the attempted abortion, she now has cerebral palsey, which she actually considers “a gift.” She was not expected to lift her head or even talk, yet here she is. Turns out if the doctor had been present at the office when it was discovered that Gianna had survived the abortion, he or she would have used strangulation or some other method to finish the job. Instead a nurse present, had her rushed to the hospital, and now several years later, she is here delivering a powerful, yet very upbeat and positive testimony.
Really a must watch as you have to consider the fact that Gianna was never meant to be here, and was intended to be terminated, even after surviving the initial saline based abortion method.
Listen to this woman’s powerful and moving story and share with friends and family to show how precious all lives really are.

Here’s What You Need To Know About The Rare Black Moon On Friday September 30th!

Are you ready for a cosmic shift of epic proportions? You’d better be, because such a shift is approaching, courtesy of our moon!
This Friday, September 30th, the moon will be new but ‘black.’ During a black moon, the side of Earth’s natural satellite lit by the sun faces away from our planet. As a result, the moon appears very dark in our night sky.
Doomsday proclaimers believe this to be some sort of apocalyptic event. In reality, a black moon appears every 32 months. It’s fairly common, as far as astrological events go.
That doesn’t mean it’s not significant, mind you. Au contraire; a black moon is super significant. Here’s what you can expect.
#1 – Expect The Darker Side Of Humanity To Appear.

Researchers have long known that the full moon has an impact on human psychology. A black full moon teeters this impact into ‘negative’ territory. In other words, prepare to witness the darker side of yourself and those around you.
Feelings such as hatred and envy will be quite prominent on Friday the 30th.
Try not to get too overwhelmed by this. A look at the dark side of humanity can actually bring quite a few benefits. By taking such a look, you can gain a more accurate picture of who you are. Once you’ve got that picture, you can take the necessary steps towards becoming your best self.
#2 – Expect Your Gender Identity To Shift.
Carl Jung pioneered the idea of the ‘anima.’ This concept refers to the innate ability of both men and women to display characteristics associated with the opposite gender.
For example, the anima in men refers to a male’s feminine side. Astrologists credit the black moon with awakening one’s anima.
This does not mean you’ll be attracted to members of your own sex on Friday the 30th. In fact, it has nothing to do with sexual orientation at all.
All it means is that, if you identify as male you will feel very in touch with your feminine side as a result of the black moon and vice versa.
This can be a great time to explore yourself. If you’re in a relationship, it might help you better relate to your partner.#3 – Expect An Increase In Creativity.
A normal full moon causes a burst in creativity. A black moon takes that one step further. It’s only natural; according to research, creativity comes from a very dark place.
This Friday the 30th, you can expect a major boost in creative drive and ambition. A few great ways to make use of this include journaling, painting or songwriting. Who knows, you just might end up with a deep, thoughtful piece of work you’re super proud of!
Which effect are you most excited or anxious about? Feel free to drop us a note in the comments!

Chef Wins Reality Show Uses Funds To Feed Chicago’s Homeless
Every Monday, this chef closes his restaurant to everyone but those who are homeless. He recently gambled on an opportunity to continue the compassionate gesture and won $36,000 - all of which he donated!

Chef Quentin Love isn’t like most foodies; he has a compassionate heart to help the homeless.
Every Monday for the past two years, the chef has been closing his restaurant, the Turkey Chop Grill, to everyone but Chicago’s homeless population. He does this to help out anyone in need of a tasty, hot meal, as well as to pay forward what he’s been gifted in life.
With the help of a weekly team of volunteers, Love has paid nearly $2,000 a month out of pocket to feed homeless folks over 60,000 free meals.
The generosity certainly is newsworthy, but the compassionate business model isn’t really sustainable.
Because Chef Love needed some funds to continue the tradition of feeding the homeless on Mondays, he decided to take up an opportunity offered by Guy Fiera: compete for $36,000 on the Food Network reality television show Guy’s Grocery Games.
Chef Love put his reputation on the line, but the gamble was worth it.
Not only did the kind-hearted cook win, he donated half of the prize money to continue feeding hungry Chicagoans in need, and donated the other half to the United Services Organization.
That kind of generosity is rare in this world, which is why it is something to celebrate and share, don’t you think?

Artist uses Brainwaves to Manipulate Water
Amazing geometrical water display of human emotions
South Korean Artist Lisa Park has come up with an interesting new art form. Her performance art, called Eunoia, meaning “Beautiful Thinking”, uses 48 pools of water, inspired by the 48 emotions, which react to emotional brainwaves transmitted from her body, and read by sensors. Linked up to an EEG brainwave detecting sensor which detects the brainwaves she is putting out in real time, and then broadcasts them as sound, she creates rippling movements in the different pools resulting in her unique art. In this way she makes an audio-visual representation of herself and her emotional state. Watch Lisa Park as she puts her inner struggles on display in a beautiful geometrical water display.

To Pay or not to Pay
Sad, sad things happen when one tries to translate an expression from one language to another by plugging it into an online translator, as suspected (by yours truly) in this case.

It is supposed to say "Paid in Full" in Hebrew, you know, the usual christian drivel about Jesus paying for his sins? Anyway, it does say "Paid", and it does say "Full", but the combination does not mean "Paid in Full" at all. The best translation for the above ink is "Lots is Being Paid".
For today's Hebrew lesson we'll learn how to write "Paid in Full" correctly. After all, it's important to get your wording just right the next time you need to issue a receipt to Jesus.
